Hatha yoga involves a body of yogic practices, both physical and mental, that combine posture, breath control, seals, and locks, performed for the purpose of purifying and strengthening the physical and subtle bodies. The word "hatha" combines two Sanskrit words: ha, which means "the breath of the sun" (prana), and tha, "the breath of the moon" (apana). As with all forms of yoga the aim of Hatha yoga is the control of the body and bodily activities as a means of stilling the mind. Suitable for all levels of students.
